Regalia

Regalia

Regalia is a relic-class magical outfit created by Sutra, Goddess of the Weave, rewarded to the Anointed and high-ranking adventurers. It is produced with Starweave and enchanted with extreme comfort, self-repair, self-modification, self-cleaning, self-drying, and extreme temperature regulation. Regalia sets significantly outclass Raiments worn by high nobility, making them the most beautiful and impressive outfits in Gaia.

Most Regalia possess multiple forms that they can transition between, including casual wear, adventuring set, formal attire, swimwear, romantic attire, and sleepwear. Each form is themed similarly; partially for simplicity of design, and partially to make it recognizable with the base outfit. Because of their features and multiple forms, they never have to be removed even during sleep.

When Regalia is retired, it is returned to Sutra. Customizations to an existing outfit are far easier to complete than a new set, taking her only a few short minutes to complete.

Non-Adventuring Regalia

  • Archivist Regalia: Scholarly, professional designs.
  • Maestro Regalia: Bardish, mixed designs.
  • Maiden Regalia: Beautiful, elegant, formal designs.
  • Saint Regalia: Priestly designs. Color depends on the religious affiliation; white is common.
  • Siren Regalia: Beautiful, often seductive designs. Augmented with special shapechanging functions.
  • Fairy Regalia: Due to Sutra's love of fairies, all fairies have fairy-sized regalia.
  • Familiar Regalia: Rare regalia for highly specialized familiars.

Adventurer's Regalia

An Adventurer's Regalia is rewarded to adventurers upon earning platinum rank. These are the most prioritized Regalia, with over two thousand sets in use. They are opulent and flashy, designed to make an adventurer distinguished and recognizable; an intentional flex by the Adventurer's Guild to demonstrate their influence and attract more adventurers.

Each set of Adventurer's Regalia is tailored to the individual's needs, including additional forms for combat, stealth, or nuanced applications like aerial maneuvers. They are bestowed with magical durability, making them excellent for armor. Even Regalia that traditionally exposes skin will adapt and reshape reactively for combat.

Air Regalia

  • Passively absorbs Nim (Air Aether) from the environment, channeling it at user discretion.
  • Assists the user in casting air sorcery, augmenting spells and granting the user Nim mana.
  • Causes gentle weaving of nearby wind, but is not intended or designed for this purpose.
  • Worn by air sorcerers that want to enhance their spellcasting power.

Blood Regalia

  • Enchanted with a hybrid of Water and Bio magic designed to detect and manipulate blood.
  • Rapidly absorbs the user's blood whenever the user is bleeding or their blood is exposed.
  • Absorbs, purifies, and reappropriates blood back into the user's bloodstream.
  • Has enhanced thread manipulation, allowing it to repair itself faster and perform sutures.
  • User's blood loss is substantially reduced. Blood loss is essentially negated from minor wounds.
  • Rapid clotting and healing processes allow the user to recover from light wounds with supernatural speed.
  • When operating at high capacity, the garment visibly pumps blood through vein-like channels.
  • Often used by frontline Adventurers that are prone to receiving many small injuries, such as those who fight large groups.

Darksuit

  • When Miasma is present, this Regalia warps localized fields that trigger heavy aggression from demons.
  • Demons struggle to resist attacking the user, even to their own detriment.
  • Attracts demons from a distance, with increasing aggression as they come closer.
  • Often results in chaotic swarming. Dangerous to wear, but very effective when used by the right groups.
  • Typically limited to heavy-defense Adventurers that work with specialized demon-hunting parties.

Dawnlight Regalia

  • Generates an invisible spiraling aura that purifies Miasma from the environment.
  • Is intended to reduce demonic influence in a small area, encouraging safety.
  • Provides no mechanical advantages to the user.
  • Often worn by Adventurers assigned to protect villages, defensive fortifications or other important locations.

Druid's Regalia

  • Channels Vitae (Nature Aether) and is finely tuned to assist with slow, harmonized, intentional magic.
  • Amplifies the user's ability to commune, understand, tap into, and synergize with nature, animals, and Fey.
  • Spellcasting becomes slower, less powerful, and less efficient.
  • Nature rituals drastically improve. They are channeled with greater ease, speed, efficiency, coordination, and power.
  • It takes weeks for this Regalia to attune to its user, and will de-attune within seconds of being removed.
  • An attuned user will feel a remarkable connection in enchanted forests, and may be unwilling to leave.
  • Attuned users tend to live much more peacefully, and with modestly extended lifespans.
  • Worn by ritualistic druids and nature shamans, especially significant figures responsible for enchanted forests.

Earth Regalia

  • Passively absorbs Geo (Earth Aether) from the environment, channeling it at user discretion.
  • Assists the user in casting earth sorcery, augmenting spells and granting the user Geo mana.
  • Provides gentle grounding effects, but is not intended or designed for this purpose.
  • Worn by earth sorcerers, typically master artisans, to assist in their work.

Fairy Regalia

  • Designed specifically for Fairies.
  • Manipulates air pressure and wind currents to greatly improve flight stamina, speed, and agility.

  • Assists the user in casting fire sorcery, augmenting spells and granting the user Sol mana.
  • Lightly resists heat, but is not intended or designed for this purpose.
  • Worn by fire sorcerers that want to enhance their spellcasting power.

Firestorm Regalia

  • Fully negates damage and side-effects from heat, fire, Solfire, and fire sorcery.

  • Enables stealth maneuvers in water, suppressing all signs of movement.
  • Pressure tolerant, enabling deep underwater activity.
  • Rapidly redistributes itself and behaves like a liquid under constant motion.
  • The user is significantly harder to grip, grapple, pin, or otherwise restrain.
  • If struck, the material disperses and flows around the point of impact or where needed.
  • Blades and blunt force often fail to land cleanly, especially when attacking underwater.
  • Resists any unwanted water magic.
  • Assists and supports the user's water magic.

Fractal Regalia

  • Bends, distorts, refracts, and manipulates light.
  • The effects may make the user easy to notice, but much more difficult to observe specifics.
  • Can make the user appear visually blurred, making it impossible to register coherent definitions about them.
  • Can suppress the surrounding light, shadowing the user, making them harder to see in the dark.
  • Can sync basic colors with the environment, making the user camouflaged at a distance.
  • Can refract lighting from complex angles to distort perspectives, making the user harder to hit and anticipate.
  • Typically worn by rogues and rangers that split their talents across stealth and combat.

Gateweaver Regalia

  • Reduces portal fatigue, and makes portal transfer less of a burden on one's mana and Chi.
  • Use of this Regalia allows nearly unlimited travel through the Astralei Portal Network.
  • For those with Teleportation Animas, this Regalia reduces their fatigue from Teleportation.
  • Typically restricted to Maidens, Astralei, and Adventurers with rare Teleportation Animas.

Harmonic Regalia

  • Automatically attunes to nearby sets of Harmonic Regalia and synchronizes with them.
  • Generates subtle pressures within the outfit designed to react to synchronized Harmonic Regalia.
  • Users can sense the presence of their harmonic allies by interpreting pressure created by the garments.
  • Reveals their exact distance, direction, and physical movements of one's harmonic allies.
  • Harmonic allies can be treated as being in line of sight, which is extremely useful for many powers.
  • Holy powers cast on the user will have optimal impact, sometimes amplified beyond its normal ability.
  • Holy powers can be cast across multiple harmonic allies at once, distributing partial effects.
  • Worn by adventuring groups that want an unparalleled coordination, or which benefit from priestly support.
  • Sometimes worn by Beastmasters and their Familiars.

Holy Regalia

  • Passively absorbs Prana (Celestial Aether) from the environment, channeling it at user discretion.
  • Assists the user in casting holy sorcery, augmenting spells and granting the user Prana mana.

  • Suppresses sound generated from a close proximity, allowing the user to move in near silence.
  • Suppresses the user's scent, preventing detection by smell.
  • Suppresses vibrations and temperature emissions, reducing the chance to be detected from rare senses.
  • Suppresses aura emissions, making it nearly impossible to sense the user's aura.
  • Physically supports the user's posture, allowing them to remain comfortable while still.
  • Effects can be easily toggled, such as to allow the user to speak or make intentional sounds.
  • Used by rogues, rangers, and stealthy Adventurers that benefit from silent movement.

Resonance Regalia

  • The Regalia gently resonates with multiple subtle frequencies across a wide area.
  • With practice, the user can sense the environment by interpreting pressure created by the garments:
    • A 360-degree view is revealed. The Regalia detects and reacts to air pressure and sonar.
    • Movement is revealed. The Regalia detects and reacts to vibrations.
    • Metal is revealed. The Regalia detects and reacts to magnetic fields.
  • A difficult Regalia to use, but extremely effective at augmenting perception once learned.

Sanctuary Regalia

  • Generates a powerful holy field around the user, which acts as a moderate-range anti-demon aura.
  • Demons strongly dislike this aura. They want it eliminated, but strongly prefer not to engage it.
  • Demons within the aura are heavily distracted and less effective than usual, especially at close range.
    • Affected demons struggle to hit their marks, and are more likely to be hit themselves.
  • The sanctuary aura reacts to demonic presence, allowing the user to detect nearby demons.
    • This effect is akin to having 360 vision, but which only sees demons within the field.
  • Worn by support priests or backline sorcerers that join demon hunting parties.

Stormcoil

  • Manipulates air and Air Aether, warping air pressure and wind currents around it.
  • Incoming projectiles subtly curve, often missing or hitting less vital areas, especially from glancing hits.
  • Pushes away gas, smoke, spores, airborne contaminants. Passively cleanses the surroundings.

  • Movement on land and in the air becomes smoother, faster, and less resisted.
  • Resists any unwanted air magic.
  • Lightly masks noise from movement.
  • Usually comes with a cape that helps stabilization during flight. Can control billowing movement on command.

Wingsuit

  • Variant of the Stormcoil Regalia, specifically designed for Sky Knights and flight specialists.

    • It can climb, grapple, wrap, lift, pull, disarm, tangle, and interact with the environment at user discretion.
    • It can support over 300 kilograms.
    • It can easily distribute weight across the user's body, making certain unique movements possible or easier.
  • Sutra wears a specially-designed variant of this Regalia that benefits from her unique talents.
  • Primarily worn by certain social users and adventurers with unique mobility or grappling specializations.

Warding Regalia

  • Rapidly diffuses and resists Aetheric magic. Partially deflects, warps, and bends it around the user.
  • Reduces the impact and threat level of most direct sorcery spells.
  • Weak powers are often completely negated, while more powerful spells may be modestly reduced.
  • Disrupts the user's spellcasting attempts, making it unusable by sorcerers, except in rare forms of training.

Warstriders

  • Reforms and repairs itself faster than most Regalia, with an emphasis on strength and durability.
