Raveneye

Raveneye

Raveneye, led by the Immortal Princess Morgaine in Alwich, is a publicly known organization, but operates as a Shadow Mercenary guild, cult, and power broker that thrives in obscurity. They operate an unseen hand of influence in the shadows, skirting the limits of the Endrosian legal system. Raveneye's agents work ceaselessly behind the scenes to extract and exploit intel, and to control and shape society in its favor. Their public-facing organization has noble liaisons that represent them in courtly events across Endros, offering discreet services or intel for appropriate pay.

Organization and Structure

Raveneye is organized in strict layers, with each level knowing only what is necessary to execute its assignments. At the lowest tiers, field agents work in discrete cells, infiltrating noble courts, academic institutions, governmental offices, and other centers of power to extract sensitive information. This network of informants and spies builds a repository of secrets; knowledge that can topple noble houses, force secret alliances, and rewrite the narrative of Endros itself.

At the apex of Raveneye's hierarchy is Princess Morgaine, who pulls the strings of an Inner Circle; a cadre of shadowy figures known only by cryptic codenames. These few not only understand the full spectrum of Raveneye's ambitions but also safeguard the forbidden lore that fuels the cult's relentless drive for control. Rumors persist that the Inner Circle maintains a secret connection to a long-forgotten god of secrets; a notion dismissed by skeptics as mere conspiracy, yet whispered about in the darkest corners of power.

Fixers and Enforcers

Among Raveneye's most lethal assets are its trusted fixers. Fixers are highly skilled operatives who "solve problems" through any legal means available to them, which in the Endrosian landscape is often quite flexible. Employed by the highest tiers, these individuals are experts in eliminating obstacles: whether that requires a silent murder of citizens without rights, an act of intimidation, or a more creative solution. Operating completely off the record, the fixers ensure that Raveneye's interests are preserved, leaving little trace except for the ruined reputations and lifeless bodies of those who dare stand in their way.

Raveneye has a standing offer to provide VIP-rank assassination services to the few entities capable of legally authorizing it. While it is not believed that these services have been requested, it is also believed they may prove extremely effective.

Notable Operations and Rumors

Though Raveneye works solely behind the scenes, its impact has been felt in the downfall of influential figures and inexplicable shifts in political alliances. Rumors refer to a series of coordinated strikes aimed at preemptively neutralizing potential threats before they can expose dangerous secrets. Other murmurs reference the "Dark Files," dossiers so damning that they can force reluctant submission among even the mighty noble houses.

Evidence is rarely tied directly to Raveneye. Instead, the patterns of corruption, scandal, and clandestine maneuvering throughout Endros often bear an unmistakable fingerprint of an unseen hand; one that implies an organization like Raveneye has been involved.

Recruitment and Initiation

Recruitment often comes through influential families. Candidates are monitored and tested through covert, almost imperceptible challenges that confirm their aptitude for handling sensitive data without attracting unwanted attention. Provisional assets rarely know they're working for Raveneye. Instead, they receive orders from a handler that ensures every bit of valuable intel is funneled back into Raveneye's ever-growing arsenal of secrets.

Raveneye will aggressively pursue any "fixers" of meaningful talent. Since Raveneye has a public-facing reputation, they have a much easier time tracking down and recruiting Shadow Mercenaries that have taken an interest in them. Recruits are carefully vetted to ensure they're a good fit and willing to operate within highly compartmentalized cells that know little to nothing about the greater agendas at play.
